“Reforestation of Amorgos”

Can you imagine the Cyclades islands covered with forests? Ιt is hard for holidaymakers today to believe that deers were once roaming on Amorgos Island or even that, until recent times, this seemingly dry island was still exporting wood. The vegetation in the Mediterranean region has been dramatically decreasing through the ages as a result of Man’s activity.
What is left of the primitive nature today? What will the island be like tomorrow?
The trees of Amorgos Island stand for the threats and challenges posed by globalization towards all the small ecosystems on earth.
