“ALAMA | The first ever fashion campaign with Maasai women artisans from Tanzania “

ALAMA is a culture-to-wear label created by a group of women artisans, who promote the legacy of the Maasai tribe of Northern Tanzania through hand-crafted bead jewelry. Our meaningful jewelry is designed for anyone who wishes to support and empower the Maasai women of Tanzania, their culture and craftsmanship. In order to promote Maasai craftsmanship on an international level, we'd like to travel to Tanzania to portrait and film each and every Maasai woman artisan who designs jewelry for ALAMA. The Maasai women artisans who work with us have already approved this project and are eager to make it happen! All benefits from the exhibition sales will be donated to the NGO Africa Amini Alama, and more specifically, to the PAMOJA SECONDARY SCHOOL, an educational project supported by the NGO and initiated by the Maasai themselves. The aim of this campaign is to give a voice to all the women artisans who make our jewelry, as they might otherwise not be heard and respected by the international audience as they should be.
