“VILNIUS, Amazing wherever you think it is”, wins the 12th Amorgos Tourism Film Festival Grand Prix.
During the Αward Ceremony of the 12th edition of the AMORGOS Tourism Film Festival, which took place on November 7thin Amorgos, Greece, the Tourism destination Cities “Vilnius, Amazing wherever you think it is” produced by “Wide Wings”, won the Grand Prix Award and the 1stPrize as the Best Film promoting a City.
The International jury also decided to award films from 17 more countries in ten competitive sections. Greece and Spain were the countries with most winners, followed by Austria, Portugal, Japan and Italy.
The 12th Amorgos Tourism Film Festival received more than 140 registrations from 37 countries, a fact that reflects the Festival’s competitive and international character.
From 4th to 9th November, 45 guests from 15 nationalities had the chance to discover the beauty of the landscapes, the flavors of the rich gastronomy and the kindness and hospitality of the people of the island of Amorgos.
A Film Academy took place every day, with the Professionals in Filming, Mr. Kostas Skiftas, Andreas Lambropoulos, Kostas Karidas, and Aristarchos Papadaniil, who taught students from different parts of Greece. Besides the video screenings, available to participants and public, there was still time to hear speakers like the Giuseppe Lombardi, Creative Film Director of “Wow Tapes" Italy. the Spanish Santi Valldepérez, Tourism Marketing Specialist and Director of Terres Travel Festival, who talked about "Travel video and video Marketing will save the tourism Industry “, and Chris Torres from Scotland, founder and director of “Tourism Marketing” who spoke about “How can Tourism grow through Social Media”. From Greece we had the pleasure to listen to Aristarchos Papadaniel, Producer and Animation Director who presented 2 videos, stories through music titled “CP Kavafi, the city (wherever I turn my eyes to) and Mauthausen” When the War is over”.
The screenings, talks and the red-carpet evening took place at the ANATOLIA Conference Room of the Aegialis Hotel & Spa, on Amorgos island - Greece.

About the Festival
The International Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is an annual four-day event, organized by the Cultural Women’s Association of Amorgos, The Municipality of Amorgos, and the District of South Aegean. It started in 2010 during the 8th International Congress of Culture and Tourism YPERIA and the main purpose of the Festival is to create an international platform for enhancing global tourism through audiovisual media and reward the World’s Best Tourism Films and Travel Videos.
The Amorgos Film Festival is a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals – CIFFT, organization based in Vienna.
