Nikos Goumenakis was born in Athens in the Plaka area, below the Acropolis.
He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and did postgraduate studies in Computer Science in USA at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He worked in management positions for several years in IBM company and similar industries companies.
For many years he is interested by the Art and the cultural heritage and is especially attached to the ancient Agora of Athens.
